Thread tail onto darning needle (d-ndl). With wrong sides facing, hold the needles with live sts parallel in LH.
Step 1 Insert darning needle (d-ndl) into 1st st on front needle pwise, pull yarn through.
Step 2 Insert d-ndl into 1st st on back needle kwise, pull yarn through.
Front needle:
Step 3 Insert d-ndl into 1st st kwise, pull st off.
Step 4 Insert d-ndl into next st pwise and leave st on, pull yarn through.
Back needle:
Step 5 Insert d-ndl into 1st st pwise, pull st off.
Step 6 Insert d-ndl into 2nd st kwise and leave st on, pull yarn through.

Repeat steps 3–6 until there is 1 st on each needle. Finish with steps 3 and 5.

Just remember:
Front needle K off, p on.
Back needle P off, k on.

Knit without sliding stitch off of LH needle, place loop from RH needle onto LH needle.

1. With crochet hook and waste yarn, chain a few more stitches than needed for cast on. Pull tail through last stitch.
2. With smaller needle and working yarn, pick up indicated number of stitches in bumps on back of crochet chain. 

K the 2nd st without pulling it off of the LH needle. K into the 1st st and pull both sts off onto RH needle.
